In this position you will dive into a unique challenge, as you are involved in the design and the development of the next generation of optical transceivers.
Senior Test Engineer (m/f/d) for Component Engineering
Job responsibilities:
- Characterization of optical and optoelectronic components for data-communication applications
- Exploration of fiber-optic and free-space coupling concepts into silicon-photonic chips
- The ability to develop and setup test stands including appropriate instrumentation in compliance with product requirements
- Definition of test plans and work procedures as well as conduction of measurements
- Continuous enhancement promoting the test methods and capabilities
- Processing, evaluation and reporting of results through thorough documentation
- Reporting to project leads and manage several test projects simultaneously
- Support production engineering for supplier quality and qualification
- Identifying of parametrical correlations enabling design optimization of the components
- Implement complex findings by interacting with colleagues leading to successful completion of product development program
Your profile:
- Master’s degree or PhD in applied physics, optoelectronics, electrical engineering with focus on optical physics or equivalent qualification
- Deep knowledge about the fundamentals of passive optical components, light propagation in free-space and fiber optics
- 5 years of work experience in relevant area, testing and working with optical components
- Experience in working with measurement equipment, analysis, and documentation of results
- Application knowledge of relevant software packages for data analysis (e.g., Excel, Origin, LabVIEW, Python)
- Methodical and self-directed working style
- Attention to details and conscientiousness related to the quality of work
- Maintaining accuracy and excellence in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment
- Able to communicate fluently in spoken and written English, good German would be an asset
